Star of the week - Jamie

Jamie has been chosen to be our star of the week for the second time this year. People nominated Jamie for working hard, being a good table partner and coming back into school on Friday for golden time when he wasn’t feeling too well. Congratulations Jamie - I hope that you have a great week and that you are feeling much better. :)

Thanks to the balloon modellers

A big thanks to everyone who helped out on Saturday at the balloon stall. I estimate that we got through around 150 balloons and made around £30 for our school.

Star of the week - Rhian

Rhian has been chosen to be our new star of the week for making us all laugh and smile often and for working hard. Well done Rhian - thanks for all of the fun that you bring to school. Have a great week!

Arguments

Today in English we took part in arguments. Having an argument is sometimes a good thing - it allows you to hear other people’s points of view and to consider how other people feel. Arguments don’t need to be aggressive and never need to involve shouting. Arguing with your teacher is bad - never ever do it! Never! Ever! Never ever!!

Click here to use an interactive activity that allows you to have an online argument. Enjoy arguing! :)

Star of the week - Shannon

Shannon has been chosen to be our new star of the week; she was nominated by a number of children in the class for working well and being a good friend. Well done Shannon, keep up the hard work and keep on being a great friend. Have a great week! :)

On Bonfire Night

Click here to see some of the photos that I took of you in costume before a performance of ‘On Bonfire Night’. The group photo is amazing!

Star of the week - Joe

Congratulations to Joe on being chosen as our new star of the week for working hard and being a good friend. Since the beginning of the year Joe has always behaved very well, listened carefully and tried his hardest to complete the work that he has been given. Well done Joe - I hope that you enjoy your week as the class star! :)

Fireworks games

Well done for your outstanding performance of ‘On bonfire night’ today - I was so proud of you all.

I have posted links to a couple of fireworks games below - enjoy using them!

Have a great weekend - I’ll see you all on Tuesday! :)

Similes

In English today we talked about similes. A simile compares one thing with another thing using the words ‘like‘ or ‘as‘ - I could say that I have eyes like gemstones or that I am as chilly as a snowman.

Have a go at finishing the smiles below - write your similes in a comment for a sticker! Maybe you could even have a go at writing your own similes from scratch. :)

I have ears like…

The cat gobbled up her dinner as quickly as…

The baby laughed like…

Star of the week - Liam

Liam was chosen at the end of last term to be the star of the week during our first week back for being cheery, working hard and setting good examples for others. Well done Liam - you deserve to be the class star! Have a great week. :)
